We were invited to pitch ideas for an original animated series to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, and Doochi was the result.
On the surface, it follows best friends Shoemin (a red sneaker) and Pape (a piece of paper) and their search for purpose. How do two dudes meant to explore, imagine and wander fit into a world where all the other townsthings have that one thing that they're really good at?
On a deeper level and through environmental storytelling, the show is an celebration of imaginative play, and the thrill of exploring your house as a little kid. What if a show could help you look at the things around you in a more playful way? What if you didn't need to buy any Doochi toys, because you owned most of these characters already?
