GIPHY Events

Since the GIF's creation in 1987, GIF Artists have been a vibrant part of the video art scene. As GIPHY's creative directors, we staged a series of New York art shows to bring looping animations off of the screen and into the gallery. Community programming turned each show into a gathering place with discussions hosted by The New Museum, and commissioned artists included Alan Resnick, Sam Cannon, and Robert Beatty.

Dark Igloo created a handful of new kinetic works of art for each show - including a video-infused basketball hoop - as well as logos and promotional materials.
